Synopsis
Abstract animation is born from a feedback loop between a camera and a TV screen, then joined to the live sound of a transverse flute. Geometric forms and musical harmonics become two sides of a single composition, in which sound does not accompany the image but takes part in building it.
About the Director
After a detour into teaching philosophy, Orima Bendisse returned to his first love: moving images. For the Sequenzas series, he produces video images using feedback processes and sets them in motion with electronic editing programs, approaching video as musical composition. For Sequenza No. 2, he worked with squares, since the sound of the transverse flute is composed of even harmonics; the film has five movements.
