Synopsis
The pages of a book come alive in chronophotographic animation that traces the history of dance — from ballet and Korean dance to disco, breakdance and hip hop. The work turns a sequence of still images into continuous motion, giving the book a cinematic life.
About the Director
Shon Kim is a filmmaker and visual artist, born in Seoul, S. Korea. He holds a BA in Law from Hanyang University, a BFA in Film & Video from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts, and a Ph.D. in Animation Theory from Chung-Ang University. He works in New York.
