Synopsis
Inspired by Ed Ruscha's photographs, a film essay about swimming pools — as a symbol of bourgeois life, a holiday memory, a space of play, eroticism and tragedy all at once. The pool here also appears as a class marker, maintained by the invisible labour of those who will never dive into it.
About the Director
Charlie López (San José, 1999) is a Costa Rican filmmaker and editor, a graduate of the Véritas Film School. "The Swimmers" ("Los nadadores"), a short essay adapting Ed Ruscha's swimming-pool photographs, was his first project outside film school.
