Symbionts

Synopsis

In an invented ecosystem, strange life forms interact, reproduce and destroy one another. Digital 3D animation creates a world that feels at once alien and biologically familiar, exploring symbiosis as a mixture of interdependence, beauty and violence.

About the Director

Quirijn Dees is a sound designer, music producer and animator. He completed a Sonology Bachelor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and a Bachelor in Animation at KASK in Gent, where he began making experimental, absurdist narrative films. In 2025 he obtained a Master's in Animation at HSLU in Lucerne, continuing his experiments in digital 3D animation and creative coding. His films include Symbionts (2025) and Pubert Jimbob (2024).
