Synopsis
Dance exists here not only in the movement of the body but in the very construction of the frame. Multiple angles, flips and shifts of direction turn the screen into a choreographic space, where the movement of camera, body and sound becomes a single process.
About the Director
"Purgatorio" is a dance-choreography film exploring the space of the screen through multiple angles and displacements. It is a collaboration between Stephanie Miracle (choreography), Auden Lincoln-Vogel (cinematography/editing), and Philip Rabalais (sound design). Their site-specific dance films fuse choreography, cinematography, and sound, resisting traditional classification.
