This is not your Garden

Synopsis

The film takes the viewer on a journey through the highlands of Bogotá and five centuries of history, showing how colonisation, industrial exploitation and ecological crisis have transformed local ecosystems. Vanishing plants become not mere carriers of memory but subjects of the future: through 3D scanning and procedural technology, the film tries to imagine a world in which nature regains a will of its own.

About the Director

Colombian filmmakers focused on anti-hegemonic representation and expanded animation; their films have qualified for the 96th Academy Awards, won the Uppsala Award in Memory of Ingmar Bergman and the ZINEBI Grand Award, and screened repeatedly at Annecy. Carlos Velandia (b. 1996, Bogotá) runs the production company EXPERIMENTA.
