I Lit a Fire!

Synopsis

В основе фильма — встреча белорусского режиссёра и девочки из кыргызской деревни. Через камеру их диалог превращается в пространство культурного обмена, где простые жесты и образы обретают новое значение и открывают иной взгляд на мир.

About the Director

Valeria Lemeshevskaya (b. 1993, Belarus) is a director, a lecturer at Compass College, and curator of the Punctum film club in Bishkek, working in documentary and experimental cinema. She studied design at the Belarusian State University and later trained in experimental directing at the St. Petersburg School of New Cinema. Her visual style is shaped by her background in painting, animation, graphic art and travel.
