Synopsis
Van and Gogh have loved cherry blossoms their whole lives, though they have never seen them — not in their native Jambi, Indonesia, nor even in a photograph. A personal, almost therapeutic film by the director about loving something you never had, and about the distance that may itself be love.
About the Director
Danny Lee, whose stage name is Lee Danny, is a 22-year-old independent filmmaker and screenwriter from Jambi, Indonesia. Over the past four years he has written more than 20 screenplays. His work has been recognized nationally and internationally: Semi Finalist, TSL Free Screenplay Contest 2024 (Coverfly); Selected Writer, Rocaberti Writers' Retreat (2024); Selected Playwright, PANORAMA Asian Playwrights Meeting (2026); Top 20, SINEMA National Screenplay Competition (2026). Since 2024 he has directed five short films, including Tangshin and Altar (both 2025, shot on smartphone).
