Sojourn to Shangri-La
Synopsis
A fashion-shoot film crew arrives on the coast and discovers that the installation built for filming has vanished with the tide. The search for the missing object gradually turns into a collision between the human, commercial logic and unpredictable nature, and a question about where people ultimately end up in their pursuit of control.
About the Director
Lin Yihan is a filmmaker and artist based in Shanghai, holding an MFA in Cinema Directing from Columbia College Chicago. Her work examines fragile relationships between people in insecure, transient states. She has been selected for Slamdance, Minikino Film Week and other festivals; her short "Yesterday I was the Moon" won the Grand Prize at Seoul International Senior Film Festival 2023. She is currently writing her debut feature, "Innocent Flesh."
